Self-regulating heating Cable

  • This heating cable maintains the temperature by using the character of PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient – resistance is proportional to the temperature). Carbon-mixed resin works as semi-conductive polymer by cross linking. It forms parallel electric circuit between two bus wires. If the outside temperature is low, the current increases and as a result the heating value increases. On the other hand if the outside temperature is high, it breaks the bonds between the carbon and the current decreases, resulting in the decrease of the heating value.

  • There are 110VAC (110~120V) model and 220VAC (208~277V) model. According to the heating value, there’s 3, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20 Watts/Feet (10, 16, 26, 33, 49, 66Watts/meter) model. The output is calculated with the standard temperature of 10℃(50℉).

  • According to the maximum exposure temperature, it is categorized as low temperature unit(85℃), middle temperature unit(135℃), and high temperature unit(215℃)

Constant Wattage heating cable

  • Two insulated bus wires are winded by bare Nichrome heating element with 1m interval. 1 meter forms one zone, and heating electric circuits are connected in parallel.

  • Compared to the self-regulating heating cable, this cable creates constant output regardless of surrounding temperature changes.

  • There are 120, 240, 480VAC models. According to the heating value, there are 4, 8, 12 watts/feet models.

Power Limiting heating cable

  • Its structure is similar to the constant wattage heating cable. But instead of winding the bare Nichrome heating element itself, glass yarn is winded by Nichrome heating cable first, and they together winds the conductor. 1 meter forms one zone, and parallel electric circuits are made.

  • It has the advantages of constant wattage heating cable and strengthens the disadvantages. In this structure, the glass yarn supports the heating elements. On site, it reduces the possibility of circuit damage by bending the cable. And its structure leads to the increase of the heating element’s length in each circuit. As a result, it has the character of PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) that increases the resistance and reduces the output as the temperature increases.

  • There are 110VAC(110~120V), 220VAC(208~277V), 480VAC models. And according to the heating value, there are models of 5, 10, 15, 20 watts/feet (16, 33, 49, 66 watts/meter). Its maximum exposure temperature is 260℃.

MI (Mineral Insulated) heating cable

  • The heating element of one (or two) strands are insulated with Magnesium Oxide Powder that has 2600℃ heat resistance character. And it’s sheathed with metallic materials.

  • According to the sheath materials, there are Inconel type, Alloy825 type, Stainless Steel 316 type, Coupro nickel type, and Copper Sheath type. According to the maximum voltage, it is categorized as 300V, 600V, and 750V rating type.

  • Recently the outer sheath is produced with drawing method rather than welding method. Because it has seamless form which does not have the joints, its durability is the best among all heating cable products. It also has high heat resistance(800℃).

  • 4. Although it has various advantages, it needs sophisticated design. Because of the series heating method, available usage length must be considered while deciding the model. For the process of welding the connection between cold lead part, special technology from the expert company is required

    Korea EHT introduced MI (mineral insulated) heating cable for the first time in Korea in 1989.

Series (STH) heating cable

  • Heating element with various resistance value is insulated with fluoropolymer.

  • It has the structure of heating element / fluoropolymer sheath / tinned-copper braiding / over jacket fluoropolymer. Various resistance values (0.0117 ~ 1500ohm/m) can be applied according to the circuit length. It has the best flexibility.

  • The material of fluoropolymer used for the insulation sheath is PFA, PTFE. Its maximum exposure temperature is 260℃.

Long Line Series(LSTH) heating cable

  • The heating element uses low-resistance material (nickel-plated copper). As a result, this product can be used for long line design that has several kilometers of circuit length from one power supply.

  • It has 3-level insulation structure – heating element / 1st fluoropolymer sheath / 2nd fluoropolymer sheath / tinned copper braiding / fluoropolymer outer jacket.

  • According to the type of fluoropolymer used for the insulation sheath, it has maximum exposure temperature of 200℃(FEP) or 260℃(PFA).

Snow Melting & Floor Warming (SMFW) heating cable

  • According to the sheath material and its structure, it is categorized as concrete pavement type and asphalt pavement type.

  • According to its usage (floor tile finishing, curing concrete in winter, etc) different types are supplied.

  • It is used in different area sizes according to the conductor’s resistance. For convenient construction on site, it is provided as mat type.

PIT(Pre-Insulated tubing)bundle

  • One strand (or several strands) of tube, heating cable and insulation material are sheathed with PCV material. It is pipe/heating/insulation in one product.

  • The material of tube, number of strand, material and thickness of heating cable and insulation material are designed according to its usage.

SECT (Skin effect current)heat trace system

  • It uses the skin effect of the current. This system is useful for long line.

  • By calculating the surface (SQ mm) of the skin cable and applied voltage, it is designed to make appropriate output. Korea EHT strengthens the disadvantage of previous SECT system, and we possess patent about ‘SECT system that uses MI cable’.
